Voter lists being prepared for the upcoming municipal elections in the industrial hub of Bhiwadi, located in Rajasthan's Khairthal-Tijara district, have run into major controversy following allegations of widespread irregularities. Local residents claim that under the guise of ward demarcation and voter list revisions, a massive rigging has taken place. People point out that their names have been removed from their original wards and shifted to entirely different areas without any prior notice or consent, sparking deep resentment among the public.
Allegations of Politically Motivated Ward Shifting
Residents of the affected areas state that despite their houses being situated in specific wards, their and their family members' names have been struck off those electoral rolls. In the new wards where their votes have been reassigned, they neither own any immovable property nor have they ever resided or voted in those localities. Locals have alleged that certain influential political figures orchestrated this manipulation to secure electoral advantages, leaving ordinary citizens anxious about exercising their democratic rights.
Warden Number 51 Resident Approaches the ADM
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Surender Kumar, a resident of village Harchandpur falling under Ward Number 51, has formally approached the Additional District Magistrate of Bhiwadi with a written representation seeking justice. Surender Kumar stated that he is a permanent resident of Harchandpur, Tappaookara tehsil, and his entire family's votes have always been registered in Ward 51. He discovered on August 20 that without any formal application or consent, all family votes had been illicitly transferred to Ward Number 47.
Demand for Reinstatement of Votes in Original Wards
The aggrieved resident clarified that no application for changing wards was ever submitted from his family's side. He has urgently requested the administration to conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter and restore his family's votes back to Ward Number 51 so that they can cast their ballots in the correct constituency during the upcoming municipal polls.
