In anticipation of a massive turnout of devotees on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Jaipur Traffic Police has implemented a comprehensive traffic management scheme across the city. Special arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety around key religious landmarks, including the revered Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple, the ISKCON Temple, and the Akshay Patra Temple. To prevent severe congestion inside the heritage Walled City area, authorities have imposed a complete ban on the movement of e-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, light goods vehicles, and city buses within the restricted zone.
Strict Route Diversions across Key Walled City Areas
Under the newly issued directives, major arterial roads leading toward the Shri Govind Dev Ji Temple have been officially designated as 'No-Vehicle Zones'. Heavy traffic diversions are active across critical intersections, including Badi Chaupar, Subhash Chowk, and Jalebi Chowk. Public transport buses operated by JCTSL alongside all private city buses are strictly prohibited from entering the Walled City. Furthermore, traffic officials announced that if vehicle density rises sharply along M.I. Road, bus routes will be instantly diverted to alternate corridors to maintain fluid traffic flow.
Designated Parking Locations for 6,345 Vehicles
To accommodate visitors arriving from various parts of the city and state, police authorities have earmarked 15 specific parking sites capable of housing a combined total of approximately 6,345 two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Dedicated parking blocks have been separated for cars and motorcycles to streamline vehicular placement and exit procedures. The traffic police administration has strongly urged citizens to minimize the use of personal vehicles and instead utilize the Jaipur Metro system to alleviate pressure on the city's road network during the festivities.
QR Code System Introduced for Live Traffic Updates
Leveraging modern technology to assist commuters, the traffic department has launched a dedicated QR code feature for Janmashtami. By scanning this QR code on their smartphones, devotees can gain instant access to real-time information, including the live locations of designated parking lots, active no-vehicle zones, and dynamic route diversions. Police authorities have advised residents and visitors to review the traffic advisory and parking layout prior to stepping out for temple visits.
