The administration of the famous Khatu Shyam Ji Temple in Sikar, Rajasthan, alongside the local police, has implemented historic reforms to overhaul the VIP darshan system. The decisive action aims to curb illegal extortion and eliminate tout networks operating under the guise of privileged entry. Under the newly enforced guidelines, direct or informal VIP access to the temple complex has been completely restricted.
Advance Protocol Registration and WhatsApp QR Code Issuance
According to the updated norms, VIP darshan privileges will be extended solely to dignitaries arriving under designated administrative protocols. An official recommendation from an authorized protocol authority is now mandatory to initiate advance registration. Once the registration is processed, the system automatically sends a unique QR code to the devotee's mobile number via a WhatsApp Bot. At the entry checkpoint, security personnel will scan this QR code and verify it against the visitor's government issued identity card before granting access.
Crackdown on Touts and Hotel Recommendations
Previously, touts, hotel managers, and guest house operators frequently exploited visiting devotees by promising expedited darshan in exchange for hefty sums of money. The newly introduced digital framework effectively dismantles this middleman model. Going forward, verbal or informal recommendations from hotel owners or local innkeepers will hold no validity, ensuring that unauthorized entry attempts are entirely blocked.
Closure of Baba Parking VIP Gate and Traffic Rerouting
To streamline crowd movement, temple authorities have permanently closed the old VIP gate situated near the Baba Parking area. A dedicated, independent entry and exit corridor has been constructed exclusively for protocol visitors. By segregating protocol movement from general entry points, the administration ensures that the main queue lines for regular devotees move smoothly without unnecessary halts or congestion.
Digital Auditing to Eliminate Disputes and Fraud
Manavendra Singh Chauhan, Secretary of the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee, confirmed that the digital registration system maintains a complete audit trail for every protocol visitor. The system records the recommending authority, approved group size, exact time of QR code scanning, and identity confirmation details. This automated logging mechanism is expected to put an end to fraudulent entries, physical altercations, and recurring disputes at the shrine.
