Two Distinct Forms of Darshan Every Month

In accordance with the traditions of the KhatuShyam Ji temple, Baba Shyam grants darshan to devotees in two major forms throughout the month. One of these is the Shaligram form, where Baba appears in his original form. Darshan in this form takes place for roughly seven days in a month. Following this, Baba Shyam provides darshan in the Shyam Varna form. In this avatar, he blesses devotees for about 22 to 23 days. During the Shyam Varna form, a special sandalwood paste is applied to Baba Shyam's forehead. This sandalwood paste is removed after a ritual bath on the occasion of Amavasya. A few days later, the Tilak Shringar is performed again according to temple traditions and rituals. It was under this very regular process that Baba Shyam's Tilak Shringar was recently conducted.

Arrangements Along the 75-Foot Path Across 14 Queues

Ever since the doors reopened, a massive number of devotees have reached Khatudham to seek the blessings of Baba Shyam. To ensure smooth movement, the temple committee has arranged for pilgrims to reach the sanctum through 14 separate queues set up along a 75-foot pathway. Devotees have arrived at KhatuShyam Ji from various parts of the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Haryana. Keeping the large crowds in mind, elaborate arrangements have been put in place by the Shri Shyam Temple Committee and the local police administration. Police personnel, along with the committee's security guards, have been deployed along the darshan route and within the temple premises to ensure that devotees complete their darshan in an orderly queue system.

No Afternoon Closure During Weekends

Ordinarily, the doors of the KhatuShyam Ji temple remain closed in the afternoon between 2 PM and 4 PM. However, due to the higher influx of devotees expected on Saturdays and Sundays, the temple will not be closed during the daytime on weekends. On Friday, the temple will remain closed in the afternoon from 2 PM to 4 PM. Furthermore, on special and auspicious occasions such as Ekadashi and Dwadashi, the timings of the darshan arrangements are suitably adjusted to manage the heavy rush of pilgrims effectively.
