To fulfill a solemn spiritual vow made following the official renaming of Mount Abu as 'Aburaj', Mahant 1008 Bajrangdas Maharaj of the Naga Beri Balaji Temple in Sojat City has embarked on an extraordinary 250-kilometer prostration pilgrimage ('dandvat yatra'). Having commenced his journey from Naga Beri on August 3, the Mahant reached Sumerpur on the 29th day of his expedition. Upon his arrival near the Baba Ramdev Bhandara site at the Jakhanagar bypass, a massive gathering of devotees welcomed him warmly with floral garlands and sought his blessings.
The Movement and the Spiritual Vow
Explaining the background of this grueling pilgrimage, Mahant Bajrangdas Maharaj shared that a large-scale movement led by various revered saints had been organized to petition for renaming Mount Abu. During that campaign, he pledged that if the destination was formally designated as 'Aburaj', he would perform a complete prostration pilgrimage from the Naga Beri Balaji Temple in Sojat to the Agneshwar Mahadev Temple located in Aburaj. Following the fulfillment of that demand, he immediately set out on his journey, ignoring physical hardships and challenging road conditions.
3 km Daily Progress and 3-Month Expected Duration
The historic journey spans approximately 250 kilometers from Sojat to Aburaj and is expected to take around three months to complete. Mahant Bajrangdas covers an average distance of 3 kilometers each day through continuous prostration on the ground. Despite scorching heat and burning asphalt roads, his determination remains steadfast. Along the route, residents and devotees gather continuously to receive his blessings and support his spiritual undertaking. At Sumerpur, prominent individuals including Bharat Parmar, Hitesh Parmar, Prakash Kumawat, Nenaram Meena, Rahul Choudhary, Tulsaram, and Mukesh Banjara welcomed the Mahant, remarking that such rigorous tapasya inspires deep spiritual consciousness among the public.
Grand Procession and Bhajan Evening Planned in Shivganj
Outlining the upcoming itinerary of the pilgrimage, Bharat Parmar stated that a grand religious event will mark the Mahant's arrival in Shivganj. A massive bhajan evening featuring performances by 7 to 8 renowned devotional singers will take place at Chhawani Hanuman Chowk. Prior to the musical event, a grand procession will be carried out from Jakhanagar to the program venue in Chhawani. The upcoming celebration has generated immense enthusiasm among devotees across the entire region.
