Dr. Naveen Parihar, Joint Director of the department, confirmed that a grueling 60 km endurance ride will be featured at the Pushkar Fair for the very first time. In addition to the main 60 km event, a secondary 30 km endurance ride is also scheduled. These competitions will take place over a three-day period from November 15 to November 17. Exceptional horses belonging to various prestigious breeds from all parts of India will arrive in Pushkar to contend in these competitive trials, significantly enhancing the fair's attraction with their beauty and physical prowess.
Gulf-Style Arid Terrain Offers Ideal Track Conditions
The introduction of endurance riding has generated considerable enthusiasm among equestrian enthusiasts and visiting tourists. Explaining the choice of venue, Dr. Parihar pointed out that Pushkar's dry soil composition and natural outdoor environment create highly favorable conditions for endurance horse sports. The terrain closely resembles soil characteristics found in specific regions of Gulf nations where rapid desert horse racing is popular. Alongside the main endurance races, several other specialized horse competitions and demonstrations are slated for inclusion, giving spectators a chance to enjoy both traditional Rajasthani pastoral heritage and modern equestrian athletics.

Located just 16 km from Ajmer, Pushkar boasts straightforward transportation links for incoming travelers. The nearest rail gateway is Ajmer Railway Station, situated 15 km from the fairgrounds, from which visitors can readily take buses or private taxis directly into Pushkar. For those traveling by air, Kishangarh Airport is the nearest regional airport at a distance of 65 km. Travelers flying from major national nodes can land at Jaipur International Airport, located 150 km away, which provides extensive flight connections across India.
