A major fire broke out on Sunday at the Ashish Kirana Store located at the Sindhi Colony intersection in Keshav Nagar, Chomu city, situated in rural Jaipur. The flames rapidly escalated into a ferocious blaze, engulfing not only the shop but also the residential house built directly above it. This destructive fire incident reduced all the goods stored inside the shop to ashes, while causing extensive damage to the living quarters upstairs. The sudden mishap triggered panic in the entire area, drawing a large crowd of local residents to the site.
Sequence of Events and Eyewitness Accounts
According to eyewitnesses at the Sindhi Colony intersection, thick plumes of smoke and fierce flames suddenly began billowing out of the Ashish Kirana Store. Before nearby individuals could fully comprehend the situation or intervene, the fire had already consumed the entire establishment. The raging flames spread upward to engulf the residential structure, leaving the walls and household belongings severely damaged. The sheer intensity of the blaze alarmed onlookers, creating chaos and a massive gathering at the location.
Fire Department Intervention
Authorities and emergency services were promptly alerted about the incident, prompting three fire tenders to rush to the scene consecutively. Firefighters, aided by local residents, immediately initiated rescue and relief operations. Following roughly one to one-and-a-half hours of rigorous efforts, the fire personnel successfully brought the blaze under control. Their timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring shops and residential buildings nearby.
Suspected Cause Related to Fireworks
Initial estimates suggest that a stray spark from a firecracker may have triggered the blaze at the shop. Local discussions indicate that fireworks might have sent a spark into the premises, igniting the stock inside. However, police and fire department teams are actively investigating the precise cause of the accident and assessing the total financial losses incurred. Fortunately, no casualties or loss of human life have been reported from the incident, though the store owner suffered losses running into lakhs of rupees.
