A Big Announcement from West Bengal
At the onset of the Kharif sowing season, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme from West Bengal. More than Rs 18,880 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of over 9.44 crore farmer families across the country, bypassing any intermediary in the process.
Rajasthan's 66 Lakh Farmers Get Direct Support
Within Rajasthan, over 66 lakh farmers received more than Rs 1,320 crore in their accounts through this installment, providing fresh momentum to the state's agricultural sector. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma joined the Prime Minister's event via video conferencing from the Town Hall in Sumerpur, Pali district.
Addressing a state-level event, the Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, farmers across India are rapidly progressing toward self-reliance and prosperity. He described PM-Kisan as a solid foundation for the economic stability of farming communities.
Since 2019, Over Rs 4.46 Lakh Crore Transferred to Farmers
Sharma noted that since the launch of PM-Kisan in 2019, more than Rs 4.46 lakh crore has been deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts nationwide. Released at the critical time of Kharif sowing, this installment is expected to help farmers meet their expenses for seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.
The JAM Framework Cuts Out Corruption and Middlemen
The Chief Minister underlined that Prime Minister Modi's Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) framework has introduced a new era of transparent governance. By eliminating middlemen from the delivery chain, the system ensures that beneficiaries receive direct, timely payments while significantly reducing leakage and corruption.
A Full Chain of Agricultural Support Schemes
Sharma pointed out that over the past 12 years the central government has launched a wide range of schemes that cover the entire agricultural value chain, from purchasing seeds to accessing markets.

- PM-KUSUM Yojana (solar energy for farmers)
- Soil Health Card Scheme
- Kisan Credit Card
- e-NAM (electronic national agriculture market)
- Namo Drone Didi
Alongside these schemes, the agriculture budget has grown by nearly six times and now stands at over Rs 1.30 lakh crore, reflecting the central government's firm commitment to the farming sector.
Rajasthan Tops Up Support and Lights Up 26 Districts
The Rajasthan government has increased the annual PM-Kisan assistance from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, giving lakhs of farmers in the state additional financial support. In 26 districts of Rajasthan, farmers are now receiving daytime electricity supply.
Rajasthan has also emerged as a leading state in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. More than 2.19 crore insurance policies have been issued and farmers have received claim settlements worth over Rs 6,500 crore.
Extra Relief for Livestock Farmers and Wheat Growers
Under the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, loans worth Rs 709 crore have been sanctioned for over 94,000 livestock-rearing families in the state. The Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana has registered more than 20 lakh animals. Additionally, wheat farmers are receiving a bonus of Rs 150 per quintal on government procurement.
Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Joraaram Kumawat said that the vision of a developed and self-reliant India under Prime Minister Modi's leadership is turning into reality at a fast pace. He added that the double-engine government is rolling out new schemes for the empowerment of farmers, women, and youth while ensuring that the benefits of welfare programs reach every person at the last rung of society.
