A major development has taken place at the agricultural produce market in Sikar, bringing much-needed relief and recreational space to farmers and local residents alike. A newly developed park, spanning across 1.12 hectares and constructed at a cost of Rs 31 lakh, has been thrown open for public use. Situated adjacent to Jaipur Road, the facility features a walking track measuring over 500 meters, offering a dedicated spot for morning walks not just for the farmers visiting the market, but also for the residents living in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The market administration has meticulously planned and developed this green space with the primary objective of increasing greenery within the commercial premises and offering better amenities to the public. Shade-giving and ornamental saplings have been planted across the grounds. Plans are already underway to develop a dedicated green belt in the near future to further elevate the aesthetic appeal of the park and provide visitors with a completely natural environment.
Located near gate number two of the market along Jaipur Road, the park directly benefits several adjoining residential colonies. Residents of Basant Vihar, Shanti Nagar, Housing Board, and the Jaipur Road vicinity now have easy access to a convenient recreational spot. Previously, people from these areas had to travel all the way to Smriti Van for their morning walks, but the opening of this new facility provides them with a much closer and highly accessible option right in their neighborhood.
The highlight of the park is its walking track, which stretches over 500 meters and has already begun drawing large crowds of fitness enthusiasts from the neighboring localities during early morning hours. Alongside the walking path, several benches have been installed throughout the grounds. These seating arrangements provide a comfortable resting place for senior citizens, women, and other visitors after completing their stroll.
Market Secretary Suman Chaudhary stated that the first phase of the park's development has been successfully completed and the facility has been officially opened for public and agricultural visitors. The entire designated land parcel has been enclosed with a boundary wall to ensure safety and demarcation. To enhance security and structural neatness, iron railings have been mounted on top of the boundary wall, creating a well-regulated and secure environment for everyone.
She further emphasized that special attention has been paid to the beautification of the premises. Decorative and leafy trees have been planted at strategic locations to ensure the grounds become even more verdant and lush as time progresses. The overarching vision of the market management is to transform the space beyond a mere functional pathway into a vibrant, lush, and comfortable public common area.
With the upcoming expansion of the green belt, the visual charm of the park is projected to increase significantly. The 1.12-hectare green expanse will continue to offer a clean and tranquil atmosphere to the adjoining residential sectors.
