In an effort to examine the ground reality of welfare programs in remote rural regions, a special public service camp was organized in Gandifli village located in rural Kota. To review the arrangements firsthand, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla made a surprise inspection visit to the venue. During his visit, he personally listened to the grievances of ordinary citizens gathered at the camp and instructed officials present on the spot to resolve the issues immediately. This campaign has been initiated to ensure that government benefits reach eligible individuals in distant rural pockets bordering Madhya Pradesh, with a series of such camps being organized across various rural areas.
Multiple welfare services delivered under a single roof
The camp witnessed a massive turnout of local beneficiaries. The primary objective of this initiative is to save citizens from the hassle of running between various government offices. Through these camps, services and facilities from different departments are being provided to people under one single roof. Officers and staff from various departments are working in close coordination at the venue, making the on-the-spot verification of documents, error corrections, and new registrations much smoother for eligible families. This campaign is proving to be an effective medium for directly connecting the general public with various government welfare schemes.
Dedicated assistance counters set up at the Gandifli camp
To maximize convenience for rural residents, several important counters were established at the camp, offering a wide range of services in one location. Under identity and document services, special facilities were provided for making and updating Aadhaar cards, as well as issuing Jan Aadhaar cards and correcting name and address errors in them. For food security and social security, the eligibility of poor and needy families was verified on the spot. Additionally, new registrations were carried out for social security pension schemes such as old-age pension, widow pension, and disability pension.
Free health checkups and medicine distribution
With the active participation of the health department, free health checkups were conducted for beneficiaries attending the camp. Following medical consultations, necessary medicines were distributed free of cost to needy patients. During the inspection, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla clearly instructed administrative officials that the government intends to deliver scheme benefits to the last person standing at the edge of society, and any form of administrative delay will not be tolerated. He interacted directly with elderly citizens, women, and youth attending the camp to gather ground-level feedback on the schemes. Organizing such public service camps saves both time and money for citizens living in remote rural pockets while ensuring that the actual benefits of government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries transparently.
