In a significant travel update for passengers commuting between Maharashtra and Rajasthan during the festive window, railway authorities have introduced a weekly superfast festival special train linking Khadki and Sanganer. The dedicated service aims to alleviate the tremendous passenger rush that typically overwhelms regular train routes around Diwali and major autumn festivities. Commencing operations on October 15, the service will complete six round trips across its designated run, offering much-needed confirmed seating opportunities for families traveling home.
Detailed Timetable and Operating Schedule
Operating under train number 01411, the Khadki-Sanganer Superfast Festival Special will run between October 15 and November 19. The train will depart from Khadki every Thursday at 9:45 AM, pulling into Kota past midnight at 2:05 AM, before concluding its northbound run at Sanganer the following morning at 6:45 AM. The late-night stopover in Kota provides travelers in the coaching and industrial hub an essential alternative for late-night departures.
On the return journey, train number 01412, the Sanganer-Khadki Superfast Festival Special, is scheduled to operate from October 16 to November 20. Departing Sanganer every Friday morning at 11:35 AM, it will arrive at Kota by 3:00 PM the same afternoon. Continuing overnight, the train will reach Khadki the next morning at 9:30 AM. Through these planned departures, the six weekly rotations provide structured travel dates across October and November.
En Route Halts Across 12 Key Stations
To maximize passenger accessibility across commercial and residential hubs in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, the special service will make scheduled halts at 12 intermediate stations in both directions
- Lonavala
- Kalyan
- Vasai Road
- Palghar
- Vapi
- Valsad
- Surat
- Ankleshwar
- Vadodara
- Ratlam

Coach Configuration and Reservation Availability
The festival special train has been composed with a total of 15 coaches catering to diverse travel preferences and budgets. The rake includes 1 Second AC coach, 3 Third AC coaches, 7 Sleeper class compartments, and 4 unreserved General coaches, ensuring balanced availability across both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned segments.
While the Solapur-Ajmer festival special is already operational on overlapping sectors, severe seasonal demand has pushed waitlists into RAC, extended waitlists, or outright 'no room' categories across multiple festive dates. The addition of the Khadki-Sanganer service delivers immediate practical relief. Reservations for both directions have opened, and passengers can secure available confirmed seats via passenger reservation system counters or the IRCTC booking portal.
