Recently, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also traveled to Khatu Shyam Ji to pay his respects. The Legend Of Barbarika And The Blessing Of Krishna
Spiritual tradition reveres the deity as an incarnation of Lord Krishna in the current epoch. The profound history originates from the epic Mahabharata conflict involving the valiant warrior Barbarika, the grandson of the Pandava warrior Bhima. As Barbarika prepared to enter the battlefield aligned with the Kauravas, Lord Krishna appeared before him disguised as a humble Brahmin and requested his head as a sacrificial offering. Demonstrating supreme devotion without hesitation, Barbarika severed his head and surrendered it. Deeply moved by this matchless sacrifice, Krishna granted him a supreme boon that in the Kali Yuga he would be venerated under the divine name of Shyam, acting forever as the unfailing guardian of the defeated and distressed, a legacy that endures among millions of devoted followers today.
