Rajasthan's iconic flagship luxury train, the Palace on Wheels, has commenced its brand new tourism season on a high note as its maiden journey arrived at Mandore station in Jodhpur. Passengers arriving on the train were welcomed in traditional Rajasthani grandeur with flower garlands and ceremonial honors. Demonstrating high demand for heritage luxury travel, the first tour of the season was completely sold out, accommodating a total of 77 travelers who experienced the regal hospitality aboard this moving heritage structure.
Sheesh Mahal Inspired Interiors and Enhanced Hospitality
The refined experience provided to travelers this season is the result of strategic planning and guidance from Managing Director Bhagat Singh Lohagarh. Under his leadership, extensive attention was given to elevating the train's aesthetic grandeur, interior lighting, and overall guest service standards. The inaugural journey hosted 77 passengers in total, including 11 international tourists and Non-Resident Indian guests seeking an authentic heritage experience. Management efforts have focused on expanding the market reach among domestic luxury travelers alongside international tourists. The strategy directed by Managing Director Bhagat Singh Lohagarh successfully translated into maximum booking capacity for the inaugural journey of the season.
Itinerary Spanning Safdarjung Delhi to Rajasthan's Historic Circuit
The luxury train journey originates at Safdarjung station in Delhi before traversing Rajasthan's celebrated heritage destinations. The detailed circuit takes travelers through Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, and finally Jodhpur. At every destination, local cultural receptions are arranged for the guests. In Jaipur, travelers are greeted with traditional Kacchi Ghodi dance performances, customary drums, and decorated elephants. Chittorgarh offers a deep dive into the region's historic tales of valor, while Jaisalmer features dedicated cultural shows set against the sand dunes. Upon arrival in Jodhpur, guests were received with a performance by a Royal Band.
