A grand nine-day religious congregation, the second edition of the Shri Siyapiya Milan Mahotsav, is set to begin on August 31 at the historic Raivasa Dham in Rajasthan's Sikar district. Organized to observe the second death anniversary of former Agrapeethadhiswar Swami Raghavacharya Maharaj, the festival will conclude on September 8. Considered one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the Shekhawati region, the event is expected to draw prominent saints, religious figures, and thousands of devotees from across India for a week of devotional discourses, recitations, and community worship.
Spiritual Schedule and Discourse Programs
Sharing details of the upcoming itinerary, Shri Janakinath Bara Mandir Trust Vice President Ashish Tiwari and Secretary Rishabh Sharma stated that Agrapeethadhiswar Rajendradas Maharaj will deliver daily afternoon recitations of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha from August 31 through September 7, elucidating divine scriptures and spiritual traditions for attendees. Additionally, renowned narrator Radhakrishnadas Maharaj will conduct a three-day discourse on Nani Bai Ka Mayro from September 1 to September 3. Every morning between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM, sessions of Bhaktamal Swar Path will take place to connect devotees with saintly heritage. The festival will formally culminate on September 8 with elaborate religious rituals and a grand community feast known as Bhandara.
Weatherproof Infrastructure and Infrastructure Innovations
In anticipation of heavy footfall and potential monsoon showers, extensive logistical arrangements are being deployed across the Raivasa Dham complex. A massive waterproof dome with a seating capacity for approximately 2,000 people is currently being constructed to shelter visitors from inclement weather. To ensure comfort during long discourse sessions, the temporary structure is being fitted with proper electrical connections, ceiling fans, and high-intensity illumination systems.
To solve potential waterlogging problems caused by heavy rain, engineers and site supervisors have introduced an innovative ground setup. Heavy wooden boards are being laid across the floor area, creating an elevated seating platform that allows rainwater to drain freely beneath without collecting inside the tent. Giriraj Singh, who oversees the construction operations, mentioned that a team of roughly 50 skilled craftsmen is working round-the-clock to finish the dome by August 30. Concurrently, workers are completing interlocking paving work outside the Peeth premises to facilitate smooth crowd movement.
Legacy and Educational Contributions of Swami Raghavacharya Maharaj
The nine-day festival honors the life and contributions of former Peethadhipati Swami Raghavacharya Maharaj, who devoted his career to propagating Vedic knowledge and Sanskrit education. Born on September 8, 1952, in Virkhera village located in the Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Swami Raghavacharya completed his initial schooling in Chitrakoot before spending nearly 11 years in Varanasi immersed in the rigorous study of ancient Vedic scriptures.
Following his studies in Varanasi, Swami Raghavacharya arrived at Raivasa Dham in 1983, where he received formal spiritual initiation from Shaligramacharya. On February 25, 1984, he was officially anointed as the Peethadhipati of Raivasa Peeth. During his leadership, he established a Veda Vidyalaya at Raivasa Dham and built network of Vedashrams across Rajasthan to impart Vedic wisdom to younger generations. Swami Raghavacharya passed away two years ago on the auspicious day of Bhadrapad Krishna Dwadashi following a sudden heart attack. The annual festival serves as a tribute to his enduring spiritual influence and educational legacy.
