A severe and shocking accident occurred at Bandikui Junction in Dausa district due to major negligence by railway authorities, resulting in the death of an innocent passenger. A massive 25-foot iron angle collapsed directly onto the platform from the foot overbridge due to poor maintenance and construction standards. This incident has raised serious questions regarding passenger safety and the quality of construction work at the railway station. The late-night mishap triggered immediate panic, chaos, and cries of despair across the station premises.
Victim Returning with Family from Mehandipur Balaji
The deceased passenger has been identified as Surender Kumar Jat, a resident of Jhajjar district in Haryana. Surender Kumar had visited the renowned pilgrimage center of Mehandipur Balaji along with his entire family to offer prayers. After completing their religious rituals, the family happily arrived at Bandikui Junction to catch a train back to their home in Haryana. None of them could have imagined that this journey home would tragically become Surender Kumar's final trip.
The Fatal Angle Collapsed at Midnight
The harrowing incident took place at around 1:00 AM. Surender Kumar was standing with his family on the platform of Bandikui Junction, waiting for their train to arrive. Without any warning, a heavy, roughly 25-foot-long iron angle from the foot overbridge above crashed down onto the platform. The heavy beam struck Surender Kumar directly, crushing him severely and causing his instantaneous death on the spot.
Other Passengers Narrowly Escape as Authorities Investigate
Several other travelers were present on the platform at the exact moment of the collapse. Fortunately, the massive iron structure did not hit anyone else, preventing what could have been a much larger disaster. Bystanders narrowly escaped unhurt. Following the incident, terror gripped the station, and the grieving family was left inconsolable. Upon receiving news of the tragedy, Government Railway Police and senior railway officials rushed to the location. Police have taken custody of the body, and senior railway authorities are currently investigating how the heavy angle detached from the overbridge and who is responsible for the lapse.
