Tragedy Near Salasar Balaji Shrine: Speeding Container Kills 3 Devotees Walking From Nagaur

Three young pilgrims walking from Nagaur to Salasar Balaji temple were killed late Friday night when a speeding container vehicle struck them on State Highway 7 in Churu.

A severe road accident in Rajasthan's Churu district resulted in the immediate death of three young devotees who were walking toward the famous Salasar Balaji temple. The incident occurred late on Friday night along the Kishangarh-Sangaria State Highway 7, near the Laxmi Hotel premises, just one kilometer away from their final destination. A fast-moving unidentified container vehicle struck the trio as they walked along the side of the road during the night.

Eagerness to Reach the Temple Early

The three deceased individuals have been identified as Natwar Bhargava (29), Rajesh Bhargava (27), and Vikram Bhargava (24), all residents of Jayal village located in Nagaur district. According to local details, a large group comprising around 80 pilgrims had initiated their foot pilgrimage from Jayal on 10 September, heading toward the Salasar Balaji shrine. On Friday night, as fatigue set in, most members of the group decided to stop and take rest in Ganedi village, which is situated roughly 11 kilometers away from Salasar.

However, Rajesh, Natwar, and Vikram were eager to reach the sacred site earlier than the rest. Choosing not to rest alongside their companions, the three young men opted to continue their journey alone through the night. This enthusiasm to complete the pilgrimage without delay ultimately placed them in the path of the speeding vehicle.

Impact Near Destination and Police Investigation

As the three devotees approached the temple vicinity at approximately 11:30 PM, the speeding container struck them on Sikar Road right in front of Laxmi Hotel on State Highway 7. The impact was so severe that all three died on the spot before any medical assistance could be rendered.

Following the crash, the vehicle driver sped away from the scene without stopping. Salasar Police Station Officer Shankar Lal Bhari stated that a formal case has been registered regarding the hit-and-run incident. Police teams have begun reviewing footage from surrounding CCTV cameras installed along the highway to identify the vehicle and apprehend the fleeing driver.
