A severe administrative lapse at the government school in Fatehgarh Salla village of Beawar district has driven local residents to take matters into their own hands. Citing grave risks to the safety of students, parents and villagers gathered in large numbers on Monday to padlock the main entrance of the institution. Protesters raised slogans against the education department, expressing deep anger over what they termed persistent apathy and delayed action by the authorities.
Students Risk Lives in Crumbling Classrooms
The institution currently enrolls around 345 students who attend classes daily inside a structure that has reached a dangerous state of decay. Large cracks run across the walls, and the roof conditions pose an ongoing hazard. Parents stated that sending their children to the campus fills them with constant anxiety, as they fear the weakened structure could collapse at any moment and cause a major tragedy. While this concern for student safety is paramount, local families feel the administration has remained completely inactive.
New Building Completed But Not Occupied
The core grievance driving the protest is the fact that a brand-new facility for the school has already been fully constructed using government funds. Villagers questioned why hundreds of children continue to be accommodated in a crumbling structure when a safe, newly built campus stands ready for use. According to local residents, multiple appeals and warnings delivered to education officials in the past were consistently ignored, leaving the community with no other option but to demonstrate.
Education Officials Rush to the Scene
The sudden blockade and aggressive protest quickly prompted action from local authorities and the education department. Realizing the gravity of the situation, education official Dilawar arrived at the location shortly after receiving the information. He inspected the troubled premises and initiated direct talks with the agitating parents and villagers. Negotiations remained underway at the site, with residents firm on their demand that the school must receive immediate written orders for relocation before any locks are removed.
