A remarkable inspiring tale from Moradabad demonstrates how unwavering determination can transform a modest beginning into a massive success. When an individual possesses strong resolve, even the smallest investment can blossom into a thriving enterprise. This is the inspiring journey of Mohammad Firoz, a resident of Moradabad who laid the foundation of his blanket business with a mere 100 rupees and has now grown it into a venture worth lakhs. His journey stands as a testament to the fact that sincere effort and dedication always yield fruitful results.
The spark during college days
Mohammad Firoz has spent approximately 16 years in this trade. He built this business entirely on his own steam and without any initial backing. The inspiration to step into the world of business struck him during his college years. A friend had advised him that studying and working in the business line expands one's mindset and provides deep market knowledge. That singular piece of advice planted the entrepreneurial seed in his mind, ultimately guiding him toward his present success.
Starting out with two bedsheets for 100 rupees
Recalling the early days, Mohammad Firoz shared that 100 rupees had substantial purchasing power back then. He utilized that exact amount to purchase two single-bed bedsheets, marking his entry into the cotton goods trade. Today, he manufactures handloom cotton bedsheets featuring traditional hand block prints. He procures raw fabric from local Ansari weavers, while the cleaning and finishing work is personally managed by his father. He picked up several technical skills of the trade from his father, which he now executes with absolute precision.
Expanding beyond Moradabad
The reach of Mohammad Firoz and his business extends far beyond Moradabad, supplying goods to cities like Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, and Pilibhit. Within Moradabad, he enjoys a stellar reputation, deep local connections, and immense customer trust. His product range caters to diverse budgets. He noted that his collection of blankets starts from a base price of 400 rupees for single beds, scaling up through 600 rupees and 700 rupees, while also stocking premium high-end qualities priced up to around 3000 rupees.
Empowering the local youth
Mohammad Firoz does not work in isolation; rather, he has become an employment provider for several young people in his area, compensating them with proper salaries. Even after covering all operational expenses and overheads, he manages to save a net income of 50 to 60 thousand rupees every month. Through sheer perseverance, he has achieved financial independence and actively encourages other youth to step forward, launch their own startups, and generate strong profits.
