Almora native Ravi Tamta has completed a successful test flight of his self-developed electric flying vehicle prototype, the Hapida SkyNeX, aimed at personal sky mobility.

Young innovator Ravi Tamta from Almora district in Uttarakhand has achieved a significant milestone in personal sky mobility. His startup, Hapida Sky Private Limited, successfully conducted a test flight for the prototype of its flying vehicle named HAPIDA SKYNeX. Video footage of the test shows Ravi Tamta sitting inside the craft and piloting it smoothly through the air. His primary objective is to transform personal air transport into an accessible everyday alternative to traditional road commuting.

Electric Drone Architecture and VTOL Capabilities

The HAPIDA SKYNeX is a fully electric craft engineered using modified multi-rotor drone technology. Discussing the concept, Ravi Tamta highlighted how human transportation has evolved through various eras, starting with animal transport and progressing to automobiles, railways, and commercial aviation. However, conventional aircraft solutions remain extremely expensive and out of reach for the general public. To bridge this gap, his flying vehicle incorporates Vertical Take-Off and Landing capabilities, enabling users to launch directly from home for daily trips or medical emergencies.
