Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to officially introduce its latest flagship smartphone, the Redmi K100, in the Chinese market on October 27. Ahead of this anticipated launch, the company has revealed a brand-new color variant for the device called Snow Rock White. Previously, the brand showcased the phone in another striking shade named Fluorescent Green, which generated considerable excitement among mobile enthusiasts.
The primary highlights of this upcoming smartphone are reported to be its high 165Hz refresh rate display and a special partnership with renowned audio company Bose. However, it is important to note that most specifications of this upcoming handset are currently based on media reports and leaks, with official confirmations expected directly during the launch event.
Design and Aesthetics of Snow Rock White Variant
Through an official post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Redmi has teased the Snow Rock White avatar of the Redmi K100. According to the company, this special variant will feature a delicate, paper-like textured finish on its rear surface, imparting a premium feel. In the promotional images released so far, the back panel of the phone appears in a clean white hue adorned with a textured pattern. Meanwhile, the device's metal frame, physical buttons, and protruding camera module feature a matte silver finish. A dual rear camera setup alongside an LED flash is also clearly visible on the back of the device.
Prominently stamped on the rear is the Sound by Bose branding, which completely validates the collaboration between Redmi and the audio giant. According to industry reports, the phone will house two symmetrical speakers that have been specifically tuned in collaboration with Bose engineers to deliver superior sound quality. This partnership aims to elevate the multimedia and gaming audio experience for users.
Expected Display and Snapdragon Chipset Performance
The upcoming Redmi K100 is widely expected to feature a spacious 6.83-inch OLED display capable of supporting a high 165Hz refresh rate. According to leaked reports, this fluid screen will allow the phone to deliver up to 165fps gaming experiences in select titles, ensuring ultra-smooth motion. Furthermore, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner may be integrated directly beneath the display for quick and secure biometric authentication.
Under the hood, the smartphone is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, designed to handle intensive multitasking and demanding games with ease. On the software side, the device is tipped to arrive running HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. Nevertheless, complete details regarding these hardware and software specifications will only be officially detailed during the formal launch event.
Camera Specifications and Expected Pricing Structure
According to circulating leaks, the Redmi K100 will likely pack a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor on the rear. Word is that it will utilize a Light and Show Hunter 800 sensor, featuring a 1/1.55-inch size and an f/1.68 aperture. Additionally, reports indicate that the phone will boast an IP68 rating, offering robust protection against dust and water ingress.
Regarding pricing, leaked estimates suggest that the starting price of the Redmi K100 could hover around 3,000 Chinese yuan, which translates to approximately ₹43,000. This estimated price point is cited for the variant equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Meanwhile, speculations also point toward higher configurations reaching up to roughly 3,500 yuan, equating to about ₹50,000.
