Congress leader Rahul Gandhi once again leveraged the shoulders of students to target the government, staging a full day of high-voltage drama at the Parliament Street police station. Rahul Gandhi stepped out of his residence accompanied by Sahil Lochab, a student who suffered pellet gun injuries during a protest at Jantar Mantar, along with the student's mother. The core demand raised by Rahul Gandhi was the immediate registration of an FIR in this injury case. Following seven hours of political and administrative drama, the police finally registered an FIR against unknown individuals at the Parliament Street station.
During the proceedings, Rahul Gandhi informed the police that Sahil Lochab was on the verge of losing his eyesight and noted that several pellets were still lodged dangerously close to his heart. Once the FIR was officially registered, Rahul Gandhi waved its copy in the air like a winning trophy. He leveled serious allegations, claiming that Amit Shah had directly instructed police officials to prevent the filing of this FIR.
Questions Raised Over Police Inaction and Delay
The situation sparked serious questions regarding why the police faced such difficulty in registering an FIR upon receiving a victim's complaint. Observers questioned the necessity of delaying the process and handing Rahul Gandhi such a significant political issue on a silver platter. Pellet guns were undeniably used at Jantar Mantar, and the injured student had frequently been seen alongside Rahul Gandhi on multiple occasions.
The identity of the shooter, the motivation behind the action, and the authority that issued the command are all matters that investigation will eventually reveal, but such inquiries should have been completed long ago. This was hardly an impenetrable secret that defied discovery. The delay in registering the FIR granted Rahul Gandhi an opening to capitalize politically, allowing him to portray the eventual filing of the case as a massive personal victory. This mirrors past political missteps, reminiscent of how Sonia Gandhi once handed the Vande Mataram issue directly to the BJP.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Interacts with Japanese Students
In a contrasting development in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with a visiting delegation of students from Japan. He took selfies with the young visitors, shared lighthearted jokes, burst into laughter, and distributed gifts among them. Kotaro Nagasaki, the Governor of Japan's Yamanashi prefecture, was also present during the event, accompanied by 13 students who traveled all the way from Japan. Yogi welcomed the visiting Japanese children in fluent Japanese. In return, local students from Uttar Pradesh entertained the Japanese guests by singing traditional cultural songs about Kausalya and Dashrath.
Embracing Discipline, Punctuality, and Patience from Japan
Speaking on the occasion, Yogi noted that the cultural traditions of India and Japan share distinct similarities. He emphasized that children in India should learn the core values of punctuality, teamwork, and strict discipline from Japan. There is a lot to learn from the Japanese people, whose foremost virtue is their exemplary discipline. They practice the habit of waiting patiently in queues, refrain from speaking in loud voices in public spaces, and maintain meticulous cleanliness everywhere they go, whether walking down a street or traveling on a train. These habits remain sorely lacking in our country.
The people of Japan face constant natural calamities like earthquakes, a reality that has taught them how to maintain composure and patience during crises. This resilience is also something people in India need to learn. Punctuality is deeply ingrained in the Japanese character, defined by arriving precisely on time and possessing a strong sense of responsibility. If these vital traits are adopted by the people of our nation, India can achieve unprecedented progress by leaps and bounds.
