An interstate narcotics trafficking network operating between Delhi and Ghaziabad has been dismantled under Operation Prahar in the Shalimar Garden area. Four individuals, including a female ringleader, were taken into custody for procuring contraband from the national capital and distributing it across local neighborhoods. The search operation led to the recovery of 969 grams of smack, estimated to hold an international market value of around one crore rupees, along with cash proceeds, mobile phones, and metallic rings.
Syndicate Operated Out of Rented Residential Premises
Investigators discovered that the syndicate adopted evasive measures to bypass law enforcement detection by frequently shifting their operational bases. The residential flat from which the suspects were detained had been leased merely a month prior. By repeatedly moving between short term rented rooms and apartments, the syndicate managed to shield its illicit distribution work, establishing steady contact points with local buyers while avoiding neighbor suspicion.
Suspect Profiles and Distribution Hierarchy
The apprehended individuals have been identified as 32-year-old Sameena from Delhi, who spearheaded the syndicate, along with 25-year-old Imran from Seemapuri in Delhi. The remaining two members are local Shalimar Garden residents, identified as 20-year-old Aryan, aged 20, and 19-year-old Imamuddin, aged 19. Initial findings indicate that Sameena procured bulk quantities of smack covertly within Delhi. She then directed the younger male accomplices to manage retail distribution points across multiple localities within Ghaziabad and adjacent sectors.
Retail Packaging and Pricing Strategy
Interrogation revealed the group packaged the contraband into small white polyethylene packets to cater to street level demand. Among the seized items were 860 pre packed individual sachets ready for sale. These packets were sold to end users for prices ranging between 300 and 400 rupees each. The suspects admitted that earnings generated from these sales funded lifestyle acquisitions, including three yellow metal rings purchased directly with narcotics profits.
Seizures and Prior Criminal Records
The total contraband seized weighed 969 grams, with an estimated commercial valuation of one crore rupees in international circuits. Police also impounded 1,74,990 rupees in cash, four mobile handsets across multiple brands, and three yellow metal rings. A background check revealed substantial prior police involvement; Sameena alone faces 11 earlier cases registered under the NDPS Act at the Seemapuri police station in Delhi. Imran also holds four prior theft cases lodged across Delhi and Ghaziabad. A case under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Shalimar Garden police station as inquiries continue to identify upstream suppliers and associate links.
