Government land previously occupied by mafia figure Atiq Ahmed and his associates in Prayagraj will soon host a modern residential development for citizens. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the bhoomi pujan on the coming Thursday for Padma Lok Apartment, an ambitious residential project planned in the Kasari-Masari locality. The high-rise complex will comprise 602 residential flats. Alongside launching the new project during his single-day itinerary, the Chief Minister will also distribute keys to 556 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Peepalgaon and take part in several civic and public engagements.
Kasari-Masari to Feature 14-Storey Padma Lok Apartment
Sharing technical details of the housing initiative, Prayagraj Development Authority Secretary Vineet Kumar Singh stated that the 14-storey Padma Lok Apartment will be constructed across approximately 9,811.35 square metres of land in Kasari-Masari. The layout plans accommodate 602 two-bedroom, hall, and kitchen (2-BHK) apartments, with each unit covering a defined area of 56.45 square metres.
The residential project has been designed with an emphasis on sustainable infrastructure and modern amenities. The development plans incorporate structured parking facilities, a dedicated rainwater harvesting network, and a solar energy system to support daily utilities. In addition, the complex will feature a swimming pool, a spacious community hall for neighborhood gatherings, and an integrated commercial shopping arcade to meet the retail requirements of residents.
Handover of 556 PMAY Flats in Peepalgaon
Following the foundation laying ceremony at Padma Lok Apartment, the Chief Minister will travel to Peepalgaon to hand over keys to 556 beneficiaries of housing units constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Prayagraj Development Authority had selected the recipients of these homes through a public lottery draw conducted in April 2025, completing the process of securing affordable shelter for the families.
Statue Unveiling of Freedom Fighter Mahashay Masuria Deen Pasi
During his visit, the Chief Minister will unveil a statue of freedom fighter and Constituent Assembly member Mahashay Masuria Deen Pasi at the Teliyarganj intersection. During this commemorative event, Yogi Adityanath will also meet directly with surviving members of his family.
Mahashay Masuria Deen Pasi was a distinguished freedom fighter, prominent political leader, and respected Dalit thinker who dedicated his public career to social advancement. He was particularly instrumental in expanding access to education across the Pasi community, championing educational literacy as a pillar of long-term community empowerment.
Addressing the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduate Constituency Convention
Official schedules confirm that the Chief Minister will also address a voter conference at the Government Press Ground for the Allahabad-Jhansi graduate constituency. Organised to mobilise support for Bharatiya Janata Party candidates contesting the upcoming Legislative Council elections for teacher and graduate constituencies, the gathering is slated to draw teachers and graduate voters spanning 10 participating districts.
The Chief Minister's day-long itinerary brings together major urban development milestones, social commemorations, and regional political engagements. Earlier, while addressing a similar teacher-graduate conference in Varanasi, Yogi Adityanath had sharply criticised the opposition, stating that during the Samajwadi Party regime, employment opportunities were impossible to obtain outside the influence of the Saifai syndicate.
