Vaibhav, a local resident pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at a nearby campus, stated that navigating these battered lanes and wide potholes is an unavoidable daily ordeal. He pointed out that pedestrians face the brunt of the flying dust alongside the constant threat of vehicular mishaps on the unstable road surfaces.
Uncovered Storm Drains and Exposed Rebars Multiply Crash Risks
Beyond fractured roadways, pedestrians face life-threatening hazards from deep drainage channels that remain entirely open along walkways. In multiple stretches, jagged iron reinforcement rods protrude outward from damaged concrete, creating extreme puncture and trauma risks. Vaibhav stressed that a student or passerby could easily fall into these exposed trenches and sustain critical injuries. Local resident Arun Nagar echoed these observations, pointing out that even in dry conditions without rain, excessive dust blankets the roads while uncovered drains with exposed steel rebar create constant traps for an area accommodating over one lakh students.

Another area resident, Joginder Khari, described the infrastructure neglect as urgent and severe, emphasizing that thousands of youngsters traverse these lanes every morning. He noted that the combination of uncovered drainage gullies and airborne particulate matter directly impacts daily life, demanding that authorities prioritize resurfacing projects and install durable covers over every open trench. Residents warned that treating such basic civic duties with apathy undermines the reputation of what is supposed to be a premier learning district.
