He asserted that the administration must compensate individuals whose residences, commercial outlets, and domestic belongings were ruined during bulldozer operations. He declared that if the current dispensation refuses to settle these claims, the Samajwadi Party will provide complete financial restitution to all affected households upon assuming government office in the future.
Lack of Notice to Retrieve Belongings Condemned
Highlighting the plight of underprivileged citizens, Akhilesh Yadav maintained that everyday wage earners invest their entire lifetime savings into building a shelter. He argued that governance requires compassion toward vulnerable populations rather than indiscriminate destruction of properties. According to him, standard administrative procedures should have at least granted families adequate notice and opportunity to relocate their household articles before executing structural demolitions.
The former Uttar Pradesh leadership figure stated that residents were forcibly prevented from removing their personal items, which were subsequently loaded onto demolition vehicles and carted away to undisclosed locations. He reassured affected citizens that his political outfit remains committed to rebuilding their houses and reimbursing every item lost during these administrative actions as soon as the party returns to power.
Affected Families Recount Hardships and Detail Property Losses
During the briefing at the party office, women who bore the brunt of the demolition drives shared first-hand accounts of their distressing experiences. They detailed how swift enforcement actions left them displaced without essential provisions. Following their accounts, Akhilesh Yadav released a detailed register listing the names of targeted citizens alongside specific assessments of the properties destroyed during the enforcement campaign.
Concerns Raised Over Election Commission Functioning and State Polls
Turning his attention to institutional oversight, Akhilesh Yadav questioned the neutrality and internal governance of the Election Commission. He claimed that over a 10-month span, several officials within the poll watchdog authored internal dissenting notes on 14 separate occasions. He argued that recurring internal friction raises fundamental questions regarding institutional autonomy, warning that compromising such watchdog bodies undermines democratic foundations.
He further directed sharp criticism at the central government regarding the conduct of assembly elections in Bihar and West Bengal. Akhilesh alleged that excessive deployment and utilization of police machinery was leveraged to skew electoral outcomes in West Bengal. Such administrative interference, he claimed, damages the constitutional sanctity of newly formed governments and undermines fundamental electoral integrity.
Citizens Will Use the Ballot to Challenge Governance
Concluding his remarks, the Samajwadi Party chief affirmed that the ultimate power rests with the voting public during general elections.
