A tragic incident has unfolded in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man staying at a local hotel lost his life after accidentally touching a high-tension power line while looking out of a window. The fatal accident has triggered an immediate response from local authorities, who have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.
Details of the Tuesday Evening Incident
According to local police, the incident took place on Tuesday at Hotel Stay Inn, located near Bharat Dharam Kanta within the Badalpur police station jurisdiction. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Gaurav, a resident of Karan Enclave whose father is named Sadhuram. Gaurav had checked into the hotel as a guest and was standing by the corridor window around 5:00 PM on Tuesday evening. As he looked outside, his hand came into contact with an 11,000 KV high-tension electricity wire running dangerously close to the window, resulting in a severe electrical shock.

The entire sequence of events was recorded on the hotel's CCTV cameras, and the footage has since circulated widely on social media platforms. The video recording shows sparks flying near the victim's feet, creating an immediate fire-like hazard at the moment of contact. Panic quickly erupted inside the premises as the loud noise and flash drew immediate attention. Hotel staff rushed to the spot to render assistance, but by the time they reached him, the young man had already succumbed to his injuries.
Police Response and Ongoing Investigation
Upon receiving information about the tragedy, a police team led by Badalpur SHO Vijay Gupta arrived swiftly at the scene. Authorities took the body into custody and transferred it to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Investigators are currently questioning the hotel management and staff to determine how a high-tension line was permitted to run so close to a room window. Meanwhile, police are actively working to trace the victim's family members, as specific details regarding his relatives have not yet been established while inquiries continue.
