Patna: A major update has emerged for aspirants preparing to secure teaching positions in government schools across Bihar. The Bihar Public Service Commission has officially released the notification for Teacher Recruitment Exam 4. A total of 32,388 vacancies have been announced through this recruitment drive to fill teaching positions across various grade levels in the state. Candidates aspiring to join the teaching cadre can submit their online applications starting from September 1 until September 30.
Category-Wise Breakdown of Vacancies
According to the official notification, vacancies have been distributed across different educational tiers ranging from primary to senior secondary levels. The comprehensive breakdown of the 32,388 available posts includes the following allocations
- Primary school teachers for classes 1 to 5 have been allocated a total of 3847 posts.
- Upper primary school teachers for classes 6 to 8 will be recruited against 8563 vacancies.
- Secondary school teachers for classes 9 to 10 have 3877 positions open.
- Higher secondary school teachers for classes 11 to 12 account for the highest number of openings with 16101 posts.

Pay Scale and Salary Structure
Successful candidates selected through this recruitment examination will receive initial pay scales and applicable allowances corresponding to their teaching tier, as mandated by state government regulations
- Teachers for classes 1 to 5 will receive an initial basic salary of 25 thousand rupees per month along with other state-determined allowances.
- Teachers for classes 6 to 8 are slated for an initial salary of 28 thousand rupees per month plus additional allowances.
- Teachers for classes 9 and 10 will start with a basic monthly salary of 31 thousand rupees along with admissible allowances.
- Teachers for classes 11 and 12 will draw a basic salary of 32 thousand rupees per month in addition to other regular allowances.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications
To participate in the teacher recruitment examination, applicants must fulfill specific eligibility parameters established by the authorities. Every candidate must be a citizen of India and hold the academic and professional qualifications prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education from time to time. Furthermore, candidates must have successfully cleared the CTET, BTET, or STET examinations corresponding to the respective school categories. Significantly, candidates who are scheduled to appear in the STET examination for the year 2026 are also permitted to submit their applications.
