Speaking on Sunday about diplomatic and historic ties between the two neighboring nations, Taslima Nasrin expressed optimism that relations between India and Bangladesh would remain positive in the future. She recalled the 1971 Liberation War, emphasizing the vital role India played in enabling Bangladesh to achieve independence. During that crucial period, India provided shelter to refugees, supplied arms, and eventually directly engaged in the conflict to secure Bangladesh's freedom. Nasrin noted that the people of Bangladesh remain grateful for this assistance, even though certain Pakistani jihadi factions continue to spread hostility against India.
Dilip Ghosh on the Financial and Security Burden of Partition
Responding to Nasrin's address, Dilip Ghosh expressed agreement that partition brought no benefit to any nation involved. He highlighted the immense financial strain required to secure the border lines separating the nations, noting that thousands of crores of rupees are expended on guarding thousands of kilometers of borders. Continuous border friction and disputes have resulted in severe regional damage, unlike anything seen elsewhere in the world. Ghosh argued that these ongoing security costs and conflicts stem directly from political choices made during the partition era for short-term political gains.
Saffron Attire Controversy at Parliament Regarding Ram Temple
Dilip Ghosh also addressed the recent protest held within the Parliament premises by Purnia MP Pappu Yadav, who wore saffron attire while raising concerns over the theft of offerings at the Ram Temple. Ghosh stated that wearing saffron under such circumstances constituted an insult to Lord Ram and the Ramayana. He remarked that society will neither approve nor accept such actions, adding that law enforcement and legal procedures are actively taking course regarding the theft allegation.

Taking a swipe at former CM Mamata Banerjee regarding her recent reference to a 'Plan B', Dilip Ghosh questioned the relevance of any strategic layout. He commented that onlookers should simply wait and watch what Plan A, Plan B, or Plan C actually entails. Ghosh added sarcastically that if the political party itself fails to survive, no strategic plan will hold any value or practical purpose.
