The market for consumer artificial intelligence tools designed to handle everyday life admin is expanding rapidly. Joining this competitive landscape, Tab announced on Tuesday that it has officially stepped out of stealth mode with a 300 million dollar valuation. While the company chose not to disclose the precise amount of funding it secured, the valuation places it alongside other prominent consumer AI helpers like Instinct and Meta's Muse, which are built to assist users with tasks ranging from booking travel to securing dinner reservations.
Handling Errands Directly Over Common Messaging Apps
The platform was founded earlier this year by Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt, and Ammar Amdani. Explaining how the service operates, Amdani noted that the design eliminates technical barriers by fitting straight into existing user routines. People simply send a text message to the assistant across iMessage or WhatsApp detailing whatever they require assistance with, whether that involves ordering household groceries or hunting down gifts for an upcoming birthday celebration.
Describing the user experience, Amdani said, "You text it like you’d text someone you trust and it takes the weight off." He pointed out that everyday friction points such as settling bills, coordinating bookings, making deferred telephone calls, and remembering personal milestones can be handled automatically. Because the system is equipped with its own dedicated phone number, computer, and digital wallet, it moves beyond offering step-by-step instructions and executes the actual tasks directly on the user's behalf.
Backing From Notable Venture Investors
Tab has gathered capital support from prominent investment entities, including SV Angel, Valar Ventures, and American Spirit. According to Amdani, user adoption has been expanding primarily through direct word of mouth recommendations rather than massive promotional campaigns. In addition to scaling its existing service, the company is preparing to introduce an additional product in the near future.
The Balance Between Pure Capability and User Privacy
Amdani noted that the tech sector is currently locked in an aggressive consumer AI contest, with teams everywhere trying to push machine capabilities higher. Reflecting on past generations, he mentioned that previous generations often relied on dedicated family doctors or local bankers who knew them intimately and watched out for their interests, a personal dynamic that modern consumers largely lack. Personalized artificial intelligence could fill that void, though Amdani stressed that the winners will not simply be the products showcasing the flashiest demonstrations.
Instead, he framed consumer adoption around security and boundaries. Any digital agent permitted to inspect personal inboxes, dial phone calls, or initiate purchases relies entirely on user trust. Tab was designed around strict safety safeguards: user information is never leveraged to train artificial intelligence models, payment cards remain locked inside an encrypted vault that Tab cannot access directly, and irreversible actions are never executed without an explicit confirmation from the user.
