Air travel infrastructure in the capital region of Arunachal Pradesh is set for a major upgrade with the completion of the newly constructed Helipad Terminal Building at Naharlagun. Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja conducted a comprehensive inspection of the site on Wednesday to evaluate the facility's readiness ahead of its scheduled inauguration by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Infrastructure Assessment and Ground Review
During the site visit, Minister Balo Raja conducted a detailed appraisal of the terminal building's operational preparedness and surrounding civil works. Among the key infrastructural aspects reviewed was the ongoing road widening project near Sunday Bazaar, designed to ease traffic flow toward the terminal complex. The minister also examined the progress on the construction of the helipad's protective boundary wall, emphasizing the importance of timely completion and high standards across all associated works.
Boosting Air Connectivity and Local Transport
Highlighting the strategic importance of the facility, Minister Balo Raja stated that the new terminal is designed to significantly enhance air connectivity across the capital region and the broader state. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to streamline travel, offer greater convenience to local residents, and provide a substantial boost to public and commercial helicopter services operating within Arunachal Pradesh.
Official Delegation and Administrative Presence
The inspection was carried out alongside a high-level administrative delegation from the state government. Minister Balo Raja was accompanied by Civil Aviation Commissioner Mamta Ribaji and Civil Aviation Director Sterling Jamoh, along with several key officers and technical personnel from the Directorate of Civil Aviation who briefed the minister on operational timelines and facility management.
