Commuters navigating routes across the national capital and its adjoining cities have received a substantial infrastructure upgrade with the formal launch of a major electric vehicle charging station at Anand Vihar. Handed over to the public, the newly built facility has commenced regular operations from Wednesday. Drivers moving along the busy transit corridors linking Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Noida frequently face battery depletion anxieties, making the commissioning of this strategic station a timely relief. To further eliminate charging bottlenecks across the capital, authorities are pairing this opening with an active pipeline of additional upcoming hubs.
Strategic Location Near Anand Vihar Bus Terminal
The facility has been set up immediately adjacent to the Anand Vihar bus terminal, utilizing vacant land situated directly behind the designated bus parking yard. Selecting this specific spot provides seamless access to motorists entering or leaving Delhi from western Uttar Pradesh. Given that the Anand Vihar transit junction sees high vehicular throughput throughout the day, stationing a dedicated charging complex right behind the depot ensures that both commercial fleet operators and private vehicle owners can pull in for a top-up without deviating from their main travel routes.
Simultaneous Support for 10 Vehicles Including Dedicated Bus Slots
The standout technical feature of this Anand Vihar facility is its extensive capacity, engineered to charge as many as 10 electric vehicles simultaneously. This multi-vehicle configuration substantially curtails turnaround delays and queue times for motorists. Crucially, the layout incorporates two dedicated charging points designed specifically to accommodate electric buses. Across the entire Delhi-NCR belt, commuter adoption of electric mobility has surpassed that of most other regions, creating immense daily power demand. In response to this surging density of green transport, the administration has been steadily constructing successive charging stations to keep pace with road requirements.
Four Additional Stations Planned Across Nangloi and Rohini
While the Anand Vihar installation represents the largest operational capacity among the newest batch, the surrounding network will expand further through four upcoming facilities. These future stations are earmarked for key residential and commercial transit belts including Nangloi, Keshav Kunj, Rohini Sector 37, and Nand Nagri. Each of these four locations will feature hardware to recharge four electric vehicles concurrently. While they do not match the scale of the 10-vehicle Anand Vihar flagship, their addition across decentralized corners of the capital will give neighborhood commuters reliable local access without needing to travel to border transit terminals.
