BYD India has expanded its premium electric vehicle lineup in the country by introducing a new entry-level Dynamic variant of the Sealion 7 SUV. Priced at a starting ex-showroom figure of Rs 41.90 lakh, this newly launched model positions itself below the existing Premium and Performance trims. The introduction of this price-accessible variant aims to broaden the automaker's appeal among luxury electric vehicle buyers across the Indian market.
Battery Setup, Range Metrics, and Core Performance
Powering the Sealion 7 Dynamic variant is a 71.8 kWh LFP Blade battery pack, distinct from the larger 82.56 kWh battery featured in the higher-spec trims. According to NEDC testing standards, this setup delivers a driving range of up to 520 km on a single charge. Driven by a single electric motor powering the rear wheels, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Underneath, the vehicle is built upon BYD's advanced e-Platform 3.0 architecture and incorporates proprietary structural and handling technologies, including Cell-to-Body (CTB) integration and Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC).
Color Choices, Sales Milestone, and Festive Benefits
Buyers selecting the Dynamic variant can choose from four distinct exterior paint options: Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Shark Grey. To mark the launch, BYD is offering special ownership perks as part of its 'Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD' festive promotional campaign. Customers purchasing the vehicle receive a complimentary 7 kW home charger along with free installation services, 10 years of roadside assistance, and an extended warranty covering the low-voltage LFP battery for 10 years or 1.5 lakh km. This launch comes as the Sealion 7 model family crosses a major milestone of selling over 4,000 units in India.
Ocean-Inspired Exterior and Vehicle Dimensions
The exterior aesthetics of the Sealion 7 follow BYD's ocean-inspired design language. Key exterior features include sleek LED headlamps, integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a sweeping panoramic glass roof, 20-inch wave swing wheel hubs, and a hands-free powered tailgate. In terms of physical proportions, the electric SUV measures approximately 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 2,930 mm that contributes to a roomy passenger cabin.
Cabin Equipment, Safety Credentials, and ADAS Tech
Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a centerpiece 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment display supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. Comfort and utility highlights include ventilated front seating with power adjustability, a spacious overall layout, a boot capacity of approximately 500 liters, and an additional front trunk (frunk). Convenience features extend to an NFC card key system and a 360-degree surround camera. On the safety front, the vehicle boasts a 5-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP and comes standard with 11 airbags, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite featuring adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and ISOFIX child seat anchor points.
