Simple Energy has officially expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio in India with the launch of its new family-centric electric scooter, the Simple Wave. Priced starting at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the new model departs from the aggressive design language of the brand's performance-oriented Simple One series. Instead, it prioritizes everyday practical utility, riding comfort, and exceptional storage capacity tailored specifically for modern urban families.
Practical Design and Massive 70-Liter Storage Capabilities
To cater to family requirements, the Simple Wave emphasizes stability and utility. The highlight of its daily usability is a total storage capacity of up to 70 liters. This includes a 63-liter under-seat compartment, a 3-liter glove box, and a unique 4-liter side 'pill' storage area. For riders who require even more cargo room, an additional external storage unit can be added as an official accessory.
Battery Variants, Range Options, and Motor Specs
Simple Energy offers the Simple Wave across four distinct battery options split among different trims. The entry-level Wave S variant comes with a 2.2 kWh battery delivering an IDC range of 110 km, alongside a 2.7 kWh battery option providing 132 km. Both of these smaller battery options utilize durable LFP chemistry and are paired with a 4.5 kW PMSM motor.
Moving up the lineup, the Mid Wave trim packs a 3.7 kWh battery capable of an IDC range of 171 km. The flagship Wave+ variant features a massive 5 kWh battery, pushing the IDC range up to a class-leading 243 km. The larger batteries in the Mid Wave and Wave+ utilize NCA chemistry and are powered by a stronger 6.4 kW PMSM motor. Across the range, the scooter achieves top speeds between 75 km/h and 90 km/h, with peak wheel torque reaching up to 179 Nm.
Smart Technology and Safety Infrastructure
Tech-wise, select variants of the Simple Wave come equipped with connected smart capabilities and either a TFT or EBN display screen. Additional convenience features include regenerative braking, traction control, hill hold assist, reverse mode, and a dedicated crawl mode for tight spaces.
Both the motor and battery pack carry an IP67 rating, ensuring robust protection against dust and water ingress. The scooter features a stable chassis design capable of climbing steep inclines with a 20-degree gradeability rating even while carrying a pillion passenger. Furthermore, Simple Energy has integrated a Generation-3 Battery Management System (BMS) to optimize charging parameters and monitor long-term battery health.
Market Positioning and Delivery Schedule
With its competitive starting price, the Simple Wave aims to challenge established family electric scooters such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida, and Ather offerings. Customer deliveries for the Simple Wave are scheduled to commence on September 25, 2026.
