Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy has expanded its footprint in India by introducing the new Simple Wave family scooter range. Tailored specifically for everyday household utility, the electric scooter integrates multiple battery configurations, smart connectivity features, and a remarkably large storage capacity to cater to various consumer needs.
Variants and Battery Lineup
The Simple Wave series is structured across three distinct variants, namely the Simple Wave S, Simple Wave, and Simple Wave+, which differ in battery sizes, display panels, and connected features. Depending on the chosen model, the scooter delivers a claimed IDC range of up to 243 km on a single charge.
Performance Specifications
At the apex of the lineup, the top-tier Simple Wave+ is equipped with a 5 kWh battery pack, yielding an IDC range of up to 243 km. It draws power from a 6.4 kW PMSM motor, achieving a top speed of 90 km/h alongside a wheel torque output of 179 Nm. Alternative versions feature 3.7 kWh, 2.7 kWh, and 2.2 kWh battery configurations, offering corresponding IDC ranges of up to 171 km, 132 km, and 110 km respectively.
Riding Modes and Powertrain
To accommodate diverse riding preferences, the manufacturer has integrated multiple riding modes into the scooter. Ride, Eco, and ECOX modes come standard across the entire lineup, while the higher-specification iterations also feature a dedicated Sport mode. Power delivery is managed via a PMSM motor coupled with a chain-drive transmission, engineered to deliver smooth acceleration while sustaining optimal efficiency for urban commutes.
Storage Capacity and Dimensions
A standout attribute of the Simple Wave is its extensive storage capability. Simple Energy states a total storage volume of up to 70 litres, ensuring high utility for family requirements. This setup comprises a 4-litre auxiliary compartment termed the Pill, an under-seat storage cavern of up to 63 litres, and a 3-litre glove box. The company describes the Pill as an industry-first auxiliary storage unit. Furthermore, the vehicle rests on a 1,347 mm wheelbase, supports a payload capacity of up to 150 kg, and incorporates IP67-rated protection for both its motor and battery pack.
Charging Options and Color Palette
Simple Energy provides portable charging solutions supporting both standard and fast-charging protocols. The flagship model can replenish its battery from 0% to 80% in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes utilizing fast charging, while a 750W portable charger is supplied for standard home charging. The lineup is offered in several exterior shades, including Pearl White, Coral Red, Twilight Black, Polar Blue, Dolphin Grey, and Forest Green.
Pricing, Bookings, and Deliveries
The Simple Wave series enters the market with an introductory starting price of INR 1,09,999. Bookings are presently open across all company touchpoints, enabling customers to reserve units via physical retail stores or the official website. Deliveries are slated to commence during the final week of September 2026, keeping the waiting period relatively brief for early buyers.
