The crime scene in Gopalganj unfolded like a dark thriller where the mastermind behind a murder plot ended up becoming the victim himself. This chilling incident occurred in the Vijaypur Diar area under the jurisdiction of the Bishanpur police station. Authorities have successfully apprehended two suspects, while an active search remains underway for two additional individuals involved in the conspiracy.
The Investigation Begins
The case surfaced on June 12 when a headless torso was discovered within a sugarcane field. Due to the missing head, identifying the victim proved to be a major challenge for the authorities. An SIT was immediately constituted to conduct a scientific and technical investigation into the matter. Based on pieces of clothing found at the site and an abandoned motorcycle, police eventually identified the victim as Mohammad Mustafa, a resident of Sirsiya village in the Kuchaikote police station area.
A Web of Illicit Relations
SP Vinay Tiwari explained during a press conference that Mohammad Mustafa led a life marked by illicit relationships, frequently exploiting various women. During this period, he became involved with a minor girl. According to police, Mohammad Mustafa was actively plotting the murder of the girl’s father and her fiancé. To execute this plan, he collaborated with his associate Lalbabu Yadav and hired three contract killers, paying them a sum of 200000 rupees to carry out the double murder.
A Lethal Change of Plans
Upon learning of Mohammad Mustafa’s true character and his dark intent, the hired killers decided to alter their trajectory. They concluded that rather than murdering two innocent people, they would eliminate Mohammad Mustafa himself. On the day of the incident, the group lured him into the sugarcane field under false pretenses. There, they used a sharp-edged knife to decapitate him. To mislead the authorities, they buried the severed head and the murder weapon deep within the field. However, through rigorous scientific analysis and technical evidence, police managed to solve this blind murder case. The two primary suspects in custody led the police to the recovery of the severed head and the weapon used in the crime, while teams continue to raid various locations to track down the remaining two absconders.
