A brazen shooting unfolded in Patna as armed criminals opened fire inside the basement of a building located in the Buddha Colony police station jurisdiction. The incident took place at the basement office inside the Shanti Girls Hostel building situated on Chakram Road. Three assailants arriving on two separate motorbikes targeted Anil Kumar Yadav, the husband of Ward Number 24 councillor Gyanwati Devi, and launched a sudden barrage of gunfire. He sustained around five bullet wounds during the attack and collapsed on the spot with severe injuries.
Sudden Gunfire Inside Basement Office
At the time of the assault, Anil Yadav, who is also a former ward councillor of Ward Number 24, was seated inside his office located in the basement of the apartment complex. The three assailants pulled up on two motorbikes, barged into the premises, and fired four to five rounds directly at him. The sudden burst of gunfire triggered immediate panic across the surrounding Chakram Road neighborhood. Witnesses reported that following the shooting, the trio brandished their firearms openly as they sped away on their motorcycles.
Victim Shifted to Hospital in Critical Condition
Bleeding heavily from multiple gunshot injuries, Anil Kumar Yadav was immediately rushed to the private Udayan Hospital. Medical personnel reported his condition to be extremely critical, requiring intensive emergency care. Upon receiving news of the shooting, Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor arrived at Udayan Hospital to check on Anil Yadav's health condition and interact with the family members present at the facility.
Police Launch Manhunt and Review CCTV Footage
Officers from Buddha Colony police station reached the crime scene shortly after receiving information about the incident. Investigators recovered spent bullet cartridges and discovered pools of blood across the floor of the hostel building basement. The entire sequence of the attack was captured on CCTV cameras installed around the apartment building. Law enforcement authorities are currently examining the video recordings to confirm the identities of the three suspects while conducting raids across various locations to apprehend them, though the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
