An exchange of gunfire between police and criminals has come to light in Patna, the capital of Bihar. The incident took place in the Masaurhi area of Patna, where two police officers were injured during the encounter between the two sides. Both injured officers are undergoing treatment at Patna AIIMS, while police are continuously carrying out raids to track down the criminals who fled the scene. Among those wounded in the Friday encounter in the Masaurhi police station area were the Additional Station House Officer of Masaurhi and a Sub-Inspector. Both were promptly admitted to Patna AIIMS for better treatment.
According to the information available, a police team had gone to conduct a raid to arrest the criminals after receiving a tip-off about a criminal incident. During this operation, the criminals suddenly opened fire on the police team. In response, the police also retaliated and returned fire. Amid the gunfire from both sides, two police officers were injured, while the criminals are said to have managed to flee the spot. Following the incident, an intensive search operation is being carried out in the area to arrest the criminals.
As soon as news of the incident was received, Patna SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma and Patna East City SP Parichay Kumar reached AIIMS and inquired about the condition of the injured police personnel. On this occasion, the officers said that gunfire was exchanged from both sides during the encounter, in which two police officials were injured. The police are investigating the entire matter, and raids are being conducted continuously to arrest the fugitive criminals.
