According to industry reports, the primary reason behind Farhan Akhtar leaving the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial is a clash in his dates and professional commitments. He has chosen to focus his time and energy on Neeraj Pandey's upcoming biographical film centered on the legendary composer and singer RD Burman, where he essays the lead role. Stepping into the shoes of the iconic musician requires intensive mental and physical transformation, demanding a substantial investment of time. Industry updates noted that Lalkar would have required over a month of rigorous training alongside a prolonged shooting schedule, leading the actor to prioritize the biographical drama instead.
Continued Association as a Producer
Even though Farhan Akhtar will no longer be seen acting in Lalkar, his professional ties to the film remain intact. He is actively producing the movie under his banner, Excel Entertainment, alongside Ritesh Sidhwani. Additionally, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is also associated with the venture.
