Daily commuters traveling along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway are set to receive significant relief as authorities move to upgrade local infrastructure. The Noida Authority has officially approved the construction of a brand-new flyover with an estimated financial outlay of ₹85 crore. Spanning a length of 500 meters, this upcoming flyover is designed to bridge sectors 148 and 150 directly, bridging the gap for commuters traversing both sides of the expressway and mitigating persistent congestion bottlenecks.
Relief from Congested Underpasses
At present, commuters traveling across sectors 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, and 153 rely heavily on narrow underpasses situated beneath the expressway. During peak commuting hours, vehicular pressure surges heavily at these crossing points, resulting in long traffic queues and substantial delays. The situation deteriorates further during the monsoon season when waterlogging inside the underpasses makes vehicular movement extremely hazardous and difficult. The proposed flyover will serve as an alternative cross-expressway connection, bypassing these recurring hurdles.
Direct Corridor Linking Sectors 148 and 150
The planned infrastructure will pass directly over the expressway, establishing a seamless link between sector 148 and sector 150. This direct alignment eliminates the necessity for motorists to navigate lengthy detours through existing interchanges. According to authority officials, the intervention will curtail travel durations and bolster overall connectivity across the urban clusters flanking the expressway.
Direct Benefits for Two Lakh Residents
The project is projected to directly benefit an estimated population of 2 lakh residents living across sectors 148 through 153. Additionally, inhabitants spanning nearly 20 surrounding villages will experience smoother transit options. Given the rapid pace of urbanization and the mounting population density in the area, the flyover is being conceptualized to accommodate future traffic demands effectively.
Detailed Project Report Underway
Officials from the Noida Authority confirmed that a Detailed Project Report for the flyover is currently under preparation. Construction work will commence following the completion of necessary statutory clearances and procedural approvals. The overarching objective remains focused on establishing direct integration between sectors situated on opposite flanks of the expressway while reducing vehicular congestion and streamlining daily commutes.
