Staggering Death Toll and Missing Persons
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Nuwakot stands out as one of the hardest-hit districts, recording 95 fatalities alone. The nationwide casualty figures paint a grim picture of the catastrophe, with the official death toll reaching 939 people. Furthermore, 279 individuals have sustained serious injuries. The most alarming metric remains the number of missing persons, with 3,925 individuals still unaccounted for across the country, a figure that includes 592 foreign nationals.
