To manage the intense surge of festival passenger traffic heading towards eastern states, railway authorities have decided to operate two reserved festive special trains linking Punjab directly to Bihar. Falling under the operational responsibility of the Firozpur division within Northern Railway, these special services will connect Amritsar with Chhapra and Chheharta with Muzaffarpur. Services are scheduled to begin on October 19 and will operate every Monday across the next seven weeks. By utilizing routinely vacant coach rakes, the carrier aims to grant travelers crucial additional travel alternatives during the busy festive weeks leading up to Diwali and Chhath Puja.

Coach Composition and Mandatory Reservation Details
Both special trains have been configured with specific passenger capacities to handle passenger flow. The Amritsar-Chhapra Special will operate with 22 coaches, whereas the Chheharta-Muzaffarpur Special will run with an 18-coach formation. Because both trains are categorized as fully reserved services, prospective passengers must secure their reservations before boarding. These arrangements provide a reliable travel choice for passengers seeking confirmed seats during high-demand festival weeks.
