In a significant move to boost women's entrepreneurship, the Jito Ladies Wing has organized a two-day trade fair titled 'Udaan-2026' in Bhilwara. The primary focus of this initiative is to provide a robust platform for women to transition their small-scale home businesses into established commercial ventures. Held at the Agarwal Utsav Bhawan, the event features approximately 100 women entrepreneurs who are demonstrating their skills and products, setting a strong example for self-reliance.
A Diverse Showcase of Products
The trade fair has attracted participants not just from Bhilwara, but from several major cities across India including Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kota, Ajmer, and Pali. There is a vast array of stalls displaying everything from fashion apparel, jewelry, textiles, and handicrafts to food products, home decor, and daily utility items. Neeta Babel, President of the Jito Ladies Wing, stated that this is the second edition of the 'Udaan' series, organized following the immense success of the previous year. With 75 to 80 stalls currently in operation, the event is providing women entrepreneurs with a significant customer base and valuable market experience.
Legal Awareness and Social Security
A distinctive feature of this trade fair is its emphasis on social responsibility alongside business activities. The event includes a special stall set up by the District Legal Services Authority to provide information regarding various government-run legal aid schemes. This service focuses on empowering women, children, senior citizens, and transgender individuals, as well as other vulnerable sections of society. The representatives emphasized that their goal is to ensure every citizen is aware of their legal rights and that those in need receive free legal assistance. This initiative has been highly appreciated by visitors as it integrates social empowerment and safety with the goal of promoting women's entrepreneurship.
From Self-Confidence to Business Success
Varsha Jain, an entrepreneur from Ajmer who is exhibiting her work at the fair, shared her experience, describing 'Udaan-2026' as a transformative platform for women. Varsha has showcased uniquely designed handmade products including jute baskets, crochet bags, and specialized boutique garments. She expressed that her first experience in the Bhilwara market has been positive and that she holds high expectations for business growth from this event. She encouraged all women to pursue their dreams, stating that with the right support from family and a firm sense of self-confidence, even a typical homemaker can become a successful entrepreneur. The trade fair serves as the perfect launchpad for such aspirations, helping women find their own path toward financial independence.
