A major relief has arrived for countless students across the country who are actively preparing for various entrance and eligibility tests conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The agency has officially released the tentative schedule for major examinations scheduled to take place from December 2026 through March 2027. Following the release of this updated examination calendar, candidates can now structure their revision plans and study routines with absolute clarity.
A Complete Examination Roadmap Through March 2027
This newly announced schedule serves as a strategic roadmap for aspirants rather than just a simple list of dates. The calendar encompasses prospective dates for several high-profile exams including UGC NET, JEE Main Session 1, CUET PG, CMAT, and NIFT. Candidates can review the complete schedule directly by visiting the official portal at nta.ac.in. Knowing the examination timeline well in advance allows aspirants to revise their entire syllabus multiple times thoroughly and without any last-minute panic.
December 2026 Schedule Highlighting RIMC and UGC NET
The final month of the year kicks off with rigorous institutional testing. The RIMC examination is scheduled for December 6, while SWAYAM tests will run from December 8 to December 12. Shortly after, national military schools will hold their entrance tests on December 13. Furthermore, the December cycle for UGC NET is slated between December 14 and December 19, with December 20 and 21 kept aside specifically as buffer dates. The Joint CSIR UGC NET examination is also scheduled for December 20 and 21.
January 2027 Featuring JEE Main Session 1 and Sainik School Exams
The arrival of 2027 brings fresh academic challenges and milestones for students. The opening week of January features the Army Cadet College exam on January 4, followed by NIFT and SHRESHTA (NETS) examinations on January 10. Subsequently, engineering aspirants will face the JEE Main Session 1 tests, which are planned between January 22 and January 24 and again from January 28 to January 30. January 31 has been designated as a buffer date to handle administrative or technical contingencies, and the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam will also take place on this very day.
February and March 2027 Showcasing CMAT and CUET PG
Aspirants targeting management colleges will appear for the CMAT examination on February 7, followed by the NITTT Part 1 tests scheduled toward the end of the month on February 26 and 27. Meanwhile, the month of March 2027 will be entirely dedicated to university entrance tests. The CUET PG examinations will be conducted across multiple phases spanning March 1 to 5, March 8 to 20, and March 24 to 25. To ensure smooth management, March 30 and 31 have been set aside as buffer dates, while the NITTT Part 2 examinations are slated for March 5 and 7.
