A disturbing incident of violence inside an educational premises has emerged from Dallirajhara in Chhattisgarh's Balod district, where an instructor at an Industrial Training Institute allegedly chased and brutally beat students with an iron shovel over a minor issue. The attack left multiple students injured and triggered intense outrage among parents. Following a formal complaint lodged by an affected student, local police registered an FIR against the accused instructor and launched an investigation into the matter.
Dispute Triggered During Vishwakarma Jayanti Preparations
The incident took place on September 17 at the ITI located within the jurisdiction of the Dallirajhara police station. The institute had organized religious rituals to observe Vishwakarma Jayanti, followed by preparations for a community feast on the premises. While arrangements were underway, a student stepped into a nearby classroom to fetch drinking water. This ordinary act infuriated teacher Faneel Sahu, who reacted aggressively and confronted the youth.
Five Youths Assaulted With Heavy Iron Tool
The confrontation quickly turned violent as teacher Faneel Sahu allegedly grabbed an iron shovel lying nearby. Accusations state that he chased the students across the area and struck five youths who were present there. The unexpected assault using a blunt metal implement caused serious panic and left the victims nursing painful injuries. After the ordeal, the battered students returned home and narrated the sequence of events to their families.
Parents Stage Protest Leading to Police Action
Shocked by the severity of the violence inflicted on their children, agitated parents rushed to the ITI campus and voiced strong condemnation against the teacher's conduct, demanding immediate administrative and legal consequences. Shortly thereafter, an aggrieved student approached the Rajhara police station with a written account of the assault, prompting law enforcement authorities to officially register an FIR against the instructor.
Balod ASP Chandrakant Governa confirmed the development, noting that an official complaint was received detailing how students preparing food for the Vishwakarma Jayanti feast were attacked. The senior officer noted that the teacher lost his temper simply because a student entered the classroom to drink water, subsequent to which five youths were assaulted with an iron shovel. Governa stated that the police have registered the criminal case based on these allegations and an active probe is underway to verify all details.
