Agricultural experts have consequently urged local farmers to stay vigilant, identify early diagnostic symptoms on leaf surfaces, and implement timely chemical and organic control measures.

Once infection establishes in any section of the farm, whiteflies transfer the virus from infected plants to healthy neighboring ones, causing rapid transmission across the entire field.

Alternatively, an eco-friendly organic solution using Neem oil at a rate of 2 ml per liter of water can be sprayed across the crop. Maintaining a spraying schedule at intervals of 15 to 20 days, based on field requirements and pest intensity, helps keep vector populations under control and halts viral spread.

Recognizing Leaf Spot Infection and Its Impact on Yields

Leaf Spot poses another major threat to okra farming under damp weather conditions. The initial symptoms of this disease manifest on the lower surface of the leaves in the form of distinct black spots. As the infection progresses, yellow patches develop on the upper leaf surface. If timely intervention is omitted, the affected foliage deteriorates rapidly, restricting photosynthesis and severely hindering the overall growth and productivity of the plant.
