A night duty shift turned tragic in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, after a minor argument over colony entry escalated into a fatal hit and run incident. Dharmendra Malviya, a 30-year-old security guard deployed at La Exotic Colony within the jurisdiction of the Lasudia police station, died after being deliberately run over by a car following a dispute. Emergency responders rushed the severely injured guard to a medical facility, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Additionally, a woman present at the scene was hit by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. Authorities have officially launched a murder investigation to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Dispute Erupts at Colony Entrance
According to initial findings, the incident occurred late in the evening between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Dharmendra Malviya was performing his routine duty at the entry gate of La Exotic Colony when a Toyota car arrived. Adhering to safety protocols, the security guard stopped the vehicle and questioned the occupants before permitting them inside the residential complex. This brief stoppage led to an argument between Malviya and the people inside the vehicle. The verbal altercations quickly intensified, resulting in a heated confrontation. Reports indicate that there were four occupants inside the vehicle at the time, including a female passenger.
Guard Run Over as Suspects Flee Scene
As the conflict escalated, the car driver allegedly drove the Toyota directly into Dharmendra Malviya with immense force. The high impact left the guard critically injured on the road. During the chaos, another female bystander was also struck by the vehicle and sustained grave injuries. Immediately after knocking down the victims, the driver sped off in the car, leaving both injured individuals bleeding at the spot. The sudden violence triggered widespread alarm and panic among local residents who rushed to assist the victims.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries in Hospital
Bystanders and family members quickly transported the critically wounded Dharmendra Malviya to Kokla Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite intense efforts by the medical staff, the 30-year-old guard could not survive the severe trauma and passed away during treatment. The news of his tragic demise has left his family devastated and sparked anger among community members over the reckless act of violence.
Police Register Case and Issue Official Statement
Upon receiving information about the incident, officers from the Lasudia police station rushed to the scene to secure the area and initiate legal proceedings. Confirming the details of the crime, Indore Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotia stated that a formal murder case has been registered at the Lasudia police station. He explained that Dharmendra Malviya was working as a watchman at La Exotic Colony when a person named Raja Kumawat arrived in a Toyota vehicle between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. An argument ensued over the car, after which family members reported that Raja Kumawat intentionally ran the vehicle over Dharmendra Malviya.
CCTV Footage and Eyewitness Statements Under Scrutiny
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotia further noted that 30-year-old Dharmendra was rushed to Kokla Hospital where he was declared dead. Based on the family members' allegations that the vehicle was driven over him intentionally, police registered a murder case and initiated a search for the accused. Investigating teams are currently scanning recorded footage from CCTV cameras installed at the colony gate and surrounding roadways to track the getaway route of the Toyota vehicle. Police assured that the suspects will be arrested soon, and further interrogation will reveal the exact sequence of events leading to the fatal assault.
