Delhi Police have taken a suspect into custody for generating and circulating a fabricated, defamatory poster targeting a senior police official using artificial intelligence (AI). The altered digital poster depicted officer Vivek Bhagat allegedly misbehaving with and molesting a woman journalist. Following the arrest, investigators produced the individual before a local court, which subsequently remanded the accused into police custody for deeper interrogation.
Deliberate Plot To Disturb Public Peace Online
Investigators suspect that the creation of the illicit graphic involves a broader conspiracy extending beyond a single individual. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to track down and apprehend additional conspirators linked to the operation. According to police officials, the AI-generated imagery was purposefully crafted and disseminated across social media networks to inflame tensions and disrupt public peace. The smear attempt followed the protest held at Jantar Mantar on October 3, where allegations of molestation involving a purported woman journalist were raised against Vivek Bhagat.

Under the authority of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, 12 serving DANIPS officers have been granted the officiating charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Additional DCP) with immediate effect.
