Rail services heading toward the national capital have been significantly disrupted in view of a scheduled demonstration in Delhi on 10 October. Apprehending severe traffic snarls in the vicinity of New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations, Indian Railways has initiated precautionary measures by cancelling a substantial number of mail, express, and premium trains right from their originating terminals.
Precautionary Cancellation of Trains
According to the official directive issued by the railway authorities, all mail and express trains that depart from their originating stations after 2:00 PM on 9 October and were scheduled to reach New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4:00 AM and 2:00 PM on 10 October stand cancelled. The administration stated that this step was taken to prevent passengers from getting stranded or experiencing extreme hardships while commuting to and from railway stations amid heavy road blockages.
