Governments, constitutions, and legal frameworks are typically discussed in the context of nations and states, but mathematics teacher Amit Choudhary from Bareilly has charted a completely distinct path. To run his personal life and daily activities with absolute discipline, he established his very own private government complete with a formally drafted constitution, strict rules, legal sections, rewards, and punishments. Beyond this personal governance system, his dedicated efforts to demystify mathematics have earned him recognition across the entire country.
Inspiration rooted in student days
Local students fondly know him as Amit Sir or Amit Choudhary Mathematics Teacher. Recalling his journey, he shares that when he was studying in the 12th grade, schools frequently hosted essay competitions on topics such as what he would do if he were Prime Minister. This specific concept ignited a deep passion within him to establish a governing system of his own. Drawing inspiration from film mahurats and governmental welfare schemes, he founded his personal administrative entity.
Reflecting on the evolution of this system, Choudhary explains that roughly two years after its inception, when he noticed delays and recurring errors in completing tasks, he decided to draft a proper constitution for his administration. This document laid down precise rules, legal clauses, achievement awards, and disciplinary penalties. He holds this self-made constitution in the highest regard, comparing its sanctity to sacred texts and spiritual guides.
Seventeen years dedicated to simplifying mathematics
Amit Choudhary's identity extends far beyond his unconventional governance experiment. To make mathematics approachable and engaging, he worked extensively on an integrated system combining abstract mathematics, applied mathematics, and Vedic mathematics. He maintains that mathematics is inherently not a difficult subject; rather, success depends solely on understanding the underlying connectivity between various mathematical topics.
He spent approximately 17 years researching and experimenting with methods to interconnect complex subjects such as trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus, algebra, and probability. Following this extensive research phase, he traveled across 11 states in India, conducting thousands of mathematics shows to help both students and educators grasp mathematical concepts through simplified techniques.
Book release and commemorative postal stamps
His academic contributions and unique outreach efforts have garnered widespread acclaim at the highest levels. His second book, titled Mathematico, drew significant attention. According to him, the book was officially launched by the late President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Furthermore, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to education, the Department of Posts issued two postal stamps in his honor under the My Stamp scheme.
