In a major step aimed at addressing the academic and administrative challenges faced by young learners in the state, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated a special outreach initiative on Tuesday. The student support camp was officially launched under the Sat Nishchay-3 framework and the Sabka Samman, Jeevan Aasan campaign at the Bihar College of Engineering in Bidupur. The primary objective of this administrative effort is to ensure that grievances, complaints, and constructive suggestions from students studying across various educational institutions in Bihar are resolved effectively and within a strict timeframe. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the information and assistance counter established in the faculty room of the administrative and academic building, reviewing the facilities and information being provided to the attendees.
Addressing Student Needs and Basic Infrastructure
Interacting directly with the students gathered at the venue, the Chief Minister listened carefully to their concerns and grievances. He assured them that all valid issues raised by the youth would be thoroughly addressed. Officials were explicitly directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and proper internet connectivity at the Government Engineering College in Vaishali so that academic activities face no hurdles. Until permanent hostel accommodations are ready for everyone, temporary alternative arrangements must be put in place immediately. The Chief Minister highlighted that Bihar stands out as a unique state where engineering education is provided for a nominal fee of just 10 rupees.
The state administration is leaving no stone unturned to enhance facilities inside engineering campuses. Responding to a request from students, the Chief Minister instructed officials to identify suitable locations around the college campus to set up Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras so that both students and local residents can benefit from affordable medicines. Plans are underway to ensure such medical stores are established across all engineering colleges, polytechnic institutes, and Ambedkar hostels in the state.
Mandatory 30-Day Resolution Deadline
Emphasizing that student welfare remains a top governance priority, the Chief Minister noted that the newly launched support camps will give learners a direct platform to present their issues before the relevant authorities. The administration aims to save students from unnecessary bureaucratic delays by ensuring that complaints are settled within a fixed schedule. Strict instructions have been issued to officials to wrap up and finalize all grievances within a maximum period of 30 days while maintaining rigorous oversight over the redressal process. Furthermore, student feedback is viewed as a valuable input for formulating better policies, and innovative student projects will be integrated with startup initiatives to foster an environment of creativity and entrepreneurship.
Helpline Numbers and Digital Portals
Under this structured schedule, student support camps will be organized in educational institutions on the fourth Tuesday of every month. These periodic sessions will focus on addressing issues related to academic frameworks, examinations, residential hostels, drinking water supply, sanitation facilities, and cafeterias. To make the grievance redressal mechanism accessible, a dedicated student support portal has been introduced for online submissions. Additionally, the 1100 helpline number has been integrated to let students track the status of their complaints remotely.
Campus Inspection and Interaction
Following the formal launch, the Chief Minister toured the ground floor of the academic block at the Vaishali engineering facility, where he examined various stalls set up by the district registration and counselling center along with the local industry department. He later visited the third floor to inspect classrooms, music rooms, seminar halls, startup incubation cells, entrepreneurship divisions, and specialized laboratories, taking time to converse with the students pursuing their technical education there.
